Last Saturday, MoCaFi team members joined ThinkWatts Foundation for a distribution day in LA, supporting fire relief efforts and delivering critical supplies to people in need.
MoCaFi has a longstanding commitment to the Los Angeles area through its work with the City and County of Los Angeles on programs such as the Emergency Rental Assistance Program, BIG LEAP – Guaranteed Basic Income, and Given 2.0 and 3.0 Holiday food assistance — all of which served low-income Angelenos. Since 2021, we have helped disburse over $65 million via the Angeleno Connect Immediate Response Card program.
ThinkWatts has been a valued partner for MoCaFi in our work in LA, and we were honored to volunteer our time and contribute to ThinkWatts Foundation’s ongoing efforts to serve low-income and underserved Angelenos through grassroots community engagement and activations.
“Our work alongside ThinkWatts boils down to one thing: how can we help the underserved to the best of our ability?” said Wole Coaxum, founder and CEO of MoCaFi. “It’s a privilege to support Angelenos in their time of need.”
“ThinkWatts is proud to work with our longtime community partner, MoCaFi, to help California wildfire evacuees, shelters, and people in need,” said Brandon “Stix” Salaam-Bailey, Executive Director of ThinkWatts Foundation.
“ThinkWatts has a remarkably well-oiled operation in Los Angeles which provides hundreds of families with much needed supplies every week. We observed firsthand how many families were in need and it was gratifying to have the opportunity to be of direct service to Angelenos. My work is typically behind the scenes, so I appreciated the opportunity to be on the frontlines of relief efforts,” said Stanley Touissant, Director of Municipal Engagements at MoCaFi, who participated in the day of service.
